Join Prestwich Community Choir
A friendly choir in Prestwich singing pop, musicals and feel good songs with zero pressure. Come for a taster, meet lovely people and see if this is your new favourite night of the week.
Try a taster session
Your first visit is a fun taster session at the start of a half term. You’ll meet the team, sing with us and experience a proper PCC rehearsal before deciding whether you’d like to join. You don’t need any previous choir experience or musical training. We love welcoming people who think they can’t sing too!
After your taster, you’ll have the option to join our welcoming choir community through simple monthly membership.

What to expect
We know it can feel nerve wracking to walk in for the first time, so here is the honest version.
You arrive.
Someone friendly smiles at you.
You meet your buddy.
You think maybe this will be ok.
Then we warm up, we laugh, and before you know it you are singing along and enjoying the moment.
You don’t need to be able to read music or arrive knowing all the answers. We’ll teach you everything you need to get started.
After your taster we’ll send you information about signing up as a full member.

You certainly wouldn’t be the first person to arrive thinking that. You don’t need previous singing experience. You won’t be judged, we don’t expect perfection and our rehearsals are designed to help you build confidence as you learn.
-
We meet every Monday, 7.30pm-9pm, during school term time. Doors open at 7.15pm for registration. We meet at The Heys School, Heys Road, Prestwich. Booking a new member taster is required before attending.

Absolutely not. There’s no auditions and no is experienced needed. If you can hum, whisper or even accidentally sing the wrong notes with enthusiasm, you will fit right in. We learn songs together in rehearsal, with teaching and practice resources to help you build confidence along the way.
-
No. We learn by ear with clear, step by step teaching. You can use our lyric sheets or sheet music if you find it helpful, but it is never required.
-
No. We know life happens and there’s members may sometimes miss a rehearsal. Membership gives you ongoing access to PCC, ChoirMate app, practice resources, rehearsal updates and catch up recordings, so you can stay connected and up to date even when you miss a week.

No. Performances are optional, although lots of our members enjoy taking part. If you choose to perform, we’ll give you rehearsal information and practice resources to help you feel prepared and confident.

Yes. Danni, our Musical Director, is brilliant at helping people grow in confidence and skill. Whether you want to sing in harmony or just feel more at home with your voice, you will be supported every step of the way.
-
Very likely. We are a warm and sociable choir and we do our best to make sure everyone feels welcome and included. We also run regular socials where people chat, laugh and bond over biscuits, brews, beers, birthdays and everything in between.
-
We sing contemporary pop and musicals with a mix of acapella and accompanied tracks. We ask our members for song suggestions because choosing what to sing together is half the fun.
-
No. You will never be put on the spot or asked to sing alone in front of the group. We sing together in sections and as a full choir, with plenty of support from our Musical Director.
